Far Niente Winery - The Napa Valley Wine Estate - is a producer of luxury, estate bottled Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines.

Far Niente Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are renowned for their ability to age gracefully and become more nuanced and elegant with time. The Cave Collection allows for the limited release of Far Niente wines with additional age, for a number of years after the vintage.

As each vintage is bottled, a percentage is set aside for the Cave Collection, capped with a specially designed tin capsule and placed in a special six-bottle wooden box. These efforts assure our wines' quality and identify its heritage as part of Far Niente's Cave Collection - an offering of older vintages for your cellar or for tonight.

Far Niente has grown and blended the finest clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc from our estate vineyards. The recognized Far Niente "house style" displays marvelous fruit and a soft structure when young. With age, those same components become more silky while the finish develops greater length and depth.

Cabernet Sauvignon Cave Collection Vintages:
1991	Cabernet Franc (16%), Merlot (4%). Rich and full Napa Valley vintage producing great depth and intensity.
1992	Cabernet Franc (15%), Merlot (5%). Rich, ripe and complex with tiers of plum, currant and black cherry.
1993	Cabernet Franc (18%), Merlot (6%). Round and inviting with a tightly knit structure and layers of blackberry fruit complemented by toasty oak aromas.
1994	Cabernet Franc (14%), Merlot (5%). Great vintage with classic structure - cassis and cedar should marry and evolve for many years to come.
1995	Cabernet Franc (14%), Merlot (5%). A powerful vintage with lots of extra richness and roundness to the blackberry flavors on the palate.
1996	Cabernet Franc (15%), Merlot (5%). Layered, velvety texture; wonderful silkiness and unusual grace.
1997	Merlot (18%), Cabernet Franc (7%). Blackberry and cassis; power and grace, combined with perfectly proportioned tannins.
1998	Merlot (15%), Cabernet Franc (8%). Subtle blackberry and cassias flavors complemented by cedar oak aromas as well as the typical "dusty" components traditionally found among the finest soils of the western vineyards of Oakville.
1999	Merlot (21%), Cabernet Franc (1%). Substantial cassis and dark blackberry aromas that are mirrored on the palate with the extra density and depth that come from an excellent vintage and low vineyard production.
