We like to think that Far Niente Cabernet is terrific in any season, but you can’t beat a glass of great Cabernet during the cold, winter months—which is perfect, because each February, we release our newest vintage. This year, our 2009 Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon was greeted with much fanfare at our annual release party.

New in 2012: Chef Recipe Pairings Cindy Pawlcyn’s Grilled Sea Scallops and 2010 Far Niente Chardonnay
We’re always looking for creative – and delicious! – ways to enjoy our wines and share them with you. New this year, we’re working with some of the best chefs from around the country who are big fans of our wines, to offer recipes for their favorite food pairings. We’re kicking it off with our dear friend Cindy Pawlcyn, chef/owner of Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen and Brassica, in St. Helena, and the woman who invented wine country cuisine 27 years ago with her flagship restaurant, Mustards. Cindy offers a tasty and seamless pairing for our new 2010 Far Niente Chardonnay. Keep an eye on our upcoming newsletters and like us on Facebook for more tempting ideas.

Far Niente Chardonnay and the Corton-Charlemagne Clone
There’s something special about Far Niente Chardonnay—more than one thing, actually. From the rolling Napa Valley vineyards in Coombsville with their unique soils and microclimates to the skill and care delivered by our winemaking team, our Chardonnay grapes are positioned for successful vintages year after year. But there’s one special element to Far Niente Chardonnay that enhances those mouthwatering flavors and textures we so enjoy: the Corton-Charlemagne clone, which is exclusive to Far Niente Chardonnay. In our latest video, Larry Maguire, Far Niente’s President and CEO, shares the story.

Solar Power Pays
When we installed our solar panel array in May 2008, we knew it made sense financially and ecologically. Just last month we received a little something that reinforced our decision to seek a sustainable power source: a two-year energy bill for $4.72. Far Niente President and CEO Larry Maguire wrote about the check on our blog. Check out the story here.

2010 EnRoute Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, “Les Pommiers”
Many of you know that our sister winery, EnRoute, makes a gorgeous Russian River Valley Pinot Noir—we hope you have had the opportunity to enjoy this wine! We sold out of the 2009 vintage late last year and have been eagerly awaiting the newest vintage. The 2010 EnRoute Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, “Les Pommiers,” will be offered to members of the EnRoute list later this month. If you would like to be among the first to purchase the 2010 EnRoute vintage, click here or email pinot@enroutewinery.com to join the list.
